The Israelites discover that not only is their God powerful enough to free them from slavery, but he is powerful enough to stay with them, fully aware of what they are facing and feeling. They can engage with God honestly; they do not have to pretend or lie about what they really feel.
We join the Israelites as they set out as free people and come to know that God that has delivered them. In the wilderness journey to Mt. Sinai and then the Promised Land they are reminded that God had been faithful, that God is still faithful, and that God will be faithful.
