Pastor's Corner: November 2025

I am someone who loves team sports.  I cannot get enough of them.  The idea that you need to work together for a common goal to win the game fascinates me.  The best teams all have the same goal, winning.  And with that goal in mind, they are all willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen, even if it means sacrificing their own performance or statistics for the betterment of the team.  The best teams have team players.  They recognize their roles and do them effectively.

One of the original examples of a team that we have is the picture of the 1st church.  In Acts 2 we read how the members of the church family were willing to do their part.  It was not about them, but about the advancement of the Gospel.  In fact, we read that they were willing to give everything, selling possessions to help the needy in their midst.  This team - the 1st Church - knew what it meant to really be a team.

Now, at GracePointe, we call our team our members.  Our membership are the people who have committed themselves to the goal of the church.  It’s a commitment to do all we can with all the time we have to reach the mission of GracePointe.  We want to see people who are following, loving and living like Jesus.  This mission matters to us and all we do flows from it.

If you are interested in being part of this team at GracePointe, we would love for you to join us for our GracePointe 101.  It is where you will learn more about our mission, our vision and values as a church team.  We share some fun history, our beliefs as a Wesleyan Church, and our goals.

We want you to join us, we need you to join us, and most importantly, God is inviting us to all join Him in the work of the Kingdom.  Are you ready to answer that call? If so, I will love to see you on November 5th.
