10 Core Values

1. Worship

Creed: I believe worship is the very center point of purpose for my life and the church.
Key Verses: 1 Corinthians 10:31 – “Whatever you eat or drink or whatever you do, you must do all for the glory of God.”  Psalm 95:1-7, John 4:23-24,Revelation 3-4.

2. Prayer

Creed: I participate in private and corporate prayer to God so I can know Him, lay my requests before Him, and to find direction for my life.  Intercessory prayer is Jesus’ strategy for empowering me, the church and reaching the world.
Key Verses: 1 John 5:14 – “And we can be confident that He will listen to us whenever we ask Him for anything in line with His will.”    Matthew 6:5-13, Matthew 7:7-11, James 5:13-18.

3. Bible Study

Creed: I engage in the study of God’s Word because it provides the foundation for me to know God, mature in my faith and discover God’s plan for my life.
Key Verses: Hebrews 4:12 – For the word of God is full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires.  It exposes us for what we really are.”  2 Timothy 3:16-17, John17:17.

4. Biblical Community

Creed: I fellowship with other Christ followers to accomplish God’s purposes in my life, others’ lives, and in the world.
Key Scripture: Acts 2:44-47 – And all the believers met together constantly and shared everything they had. They sold their possessions and shared the proceeds with those in need. They worshiped together in the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity—all the while praising God and enjoying the good will of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved.”  Luke 6:12-13.

5. Intentional Spiritual Growth

Creed: I believe that growing to my full potential in Christ is normal but not automatic.  I must intentionally follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit in my spiritual journey so that I can live a life of full devotion to Christ.
Key Verses: Matthew 6:32-33 – “…Your Heavenly Father already knows all your needs, and He will give you all you need from day to day if you live for Him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.” Romans 12:1-2, 2 Corinthians 3:18.

6. Reaching People

Creed: I know that every person matters to God.  As a result of this truth I will reach out to people with Christ’s hope and respect all people regardless of race, color, or sex. Everyone is welcome at the table.
Key Verses: Matthew 28:18-20 – “…go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  Luke 4:18-19, Luke 5:27-32, John 3:16-17, Acts 1:8.

7. Loving Relationships

Creed: I will make certain that the relationships in my life and church are God-honoring. I will follow Christ’s pattern for conflict resolution and will refrain from gossip.
Key Verses: John 13:34-35 – “I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other.  Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”  Matthew 18:15-17, 1 Corinthians 13, Ephesians 4:1-16.

8. Ministry Partnership

Creed: I will discover and use my spiritual gifts in partnership with my church family so that God’s purposes can be accomplished.
Key Verses: Ephesians 4:11-16 – “…equip God’s people to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ, until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord, measuring up to the full stature of Christ…”, 1 Corinthians 12 & 14, Romans 12.

9. Cultural Relevance

Creed: I believe God’s Truth is relevant to every time, every location and every person.  As a result I will help the church address the current needs and issues in our world without compromising Biblical integrity.
Key Verses: 1 Corinthians 9:22-23 – When I am with those who are oppressed, I share their oppression so that I might bring them to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone so that I might bring them to Christ.  I do all this to spread the Good News, and in doing so I enjoy its blessing.”  1 Chronicles 12:32, Matthew 25:44-45, 1 Corinthians 9:17-27.

10. Generous Living

Creed: I will give God the “first fruits” of my life by strategically making sure He receives my best, not just the leftovers. Every time I give to God and others it breaks the grip of materialism in my life.
Key Verses: Deut. 26:1-3 – When you arrive in the land the Lord your God is giving you as a special possession and you have conquered and settled there, put some of the first produce from each harvest into a basket and bring it to the place the Lord your God chooses for his name to be honored. Go to the priest in charge at that time and say to him, ‘With this gift I acknowledge that the Lord your God has brought me into the land he swore to give to our ancestors.’” Malachi 3:10, 2 Corinthians 8:1-14, 2 Corinthians 9.
